Dust and Rust Help

The Dust Walkers

Those unfortunate enough to get caught in these storms—and not make it back—become something more than mere casualties. They're transformed into eerie, shambling undead known as Dust Walkers. These figures are draped in tattered remnants of clothing and encased in layers of hardened dust, their eyes empty, glowing faintly with a ghostly red light.

Dust Walkers roam aimlessly, but if they sense movement, they become disturbingly focused, shambling towards any living being with relentless determination. Local legends say that killing a Dust Walker isn't enough; their spirits linger, reforming slowly back into the dust over time, as if the storm itself refuses to let them rest.

The Dust Walkers are not like ordinary undead—they seem linked to the dust storms, animated by whatever malevolent force drives these tempests. They retain no memories of their past lives, and their touch is as dry and cold as the storm itself, draining warmth and life from their victims. The townsfolk have learned to avoid them, keeping their distance and using salt to ward off the cursed undead when they gather around the edges of town after a storm.
