Session 2

The session begins as the group discusses how they intend to proceed into the car the bard came from. Theodore, opting to be safe asks Maela to escort the bard to the first cabin for her safety.

The group then opts to discuss formations and their plan of attack. Theodore plans to lead the charge in. The group plans a single-file plan since they all have firearms. Theodore first, followed by Pete, then Athtar, Una, and then Dirge.

Theodore opens the door, he sees that two thugs and a ruffian. They have their guns aimed towards the door, anticipating the attack.

The ruffian shoots at Theodore before he could expect it. Immediately after, he reloads and takes cover. Dirge takes the opportunity to summon two thralls by Pete. Athtar moves past Pete and into the corner of the car by Theodore and prepares a lesser blight bomb.

One of the thugs takes a shot against Theodore, hitting him. He then reloads and takes cover.

Theodore enters the car and pushes past the two thugs. He faces the Ruffian, who takes a pre-emptive strike on Theodore. He hits successfully and Theodore is frightened.

Una moves in next, taking a shot against a thug, but she misses.

Pete comes in next, heading to the edge of the car. He raises his firearm, activates his alchemical ammo and takes a shot against the Ruffian, shooting him in the shoulder. Blood splatters, and he grimaces from the pain, though he still stands. Pete moves into the opposite corner to Athtar.

The other thug takes a shot against Una, missing. They then move in front of Theodore and reload.

The ruffian moves to block the exit opposite to Una, flanking Theodore, who he attempts to pummel. Theodore, who is no longer scared, blocks the attack. The Ruffian burns from acid.

Dirge summons a thrall between the two thugs, and another behind the closest thug. The thrall attacks a thug. Athtar heads into the car with the thugs, immediately throwing the blight potion he prepared at the closer thug. While he misses, the chemicals inside still splash out dealing damage to both thugs, and killing both thralls.

The thug Athtar threw the potion at retaliates by shooting back at Athtar, which hits. He then moves up a booth, closer to Theo.

Theo swaps his arm to punch the ruffian, hitting him square in the mouth. He's bleeding profusely.

Una prepares her firearm again, taking a shot against the thug directly behind Theo, however she barely misses, blasting a hole through the wall behind the ruffian.

Pete moves into the car, standing 5 feet in front of Dirge. He then reloads his gun, and attempts to demoralize the thug blocking Theo. The thug is unphased, so Pete shoots him. Killing him.

The ruffian then attempts to strike Theo, missing. He moves to the corner of the car, then makes another swing against Theo, missing again.

Dirge summons a thrall where the Ruffian stood before moving. It attempts to hit the ruffian, but misses. He then summons another thrall, which strikes against the thug.

Athtar moves in front of Una and pulls out his pistol, but misses his shot. The thug then punches the thrall in front of him, destroying it. He then moves past Theodore and attacks the other thrall, destroying it as well as he tries to leave the car.

With both, the Thug and ruffian almost down, Theodore acts in diplomacy and tells them to drop their weapons. The ruffian lowers his sword and kicks it down the car. He then turns to the thug, saying "You too". The thug responds by throwing his weapon out the window of the train.

Una recalls some knowledge about the ruffian, nd then takes a shot against the ruffian. Taking a moment to train it on him. She shoots, and lands a shot clean between his eyes, killing him.

Pete then runs up to the remaining thug, pushes him up against the wall and points the gun at him. He attempts to intimidate the thug, asking him if there are additional thugs on board the train.

Theodore heads towards the group at the opposite side of the car, asking if anyone is trained in medicine. Una responds that she is. Athtar responds that he is, but is ill-equipped.

While this happens, Pete hogties the thug.

Una begins patching Theodore up. She performs a risky surgery on Theo, which was a success. She manages to completely patch him up.

The thug tells Pete that he doesn't know what's in the safe as he's not high enough rank, but someone named Silas is at the safe and in charge. He also mentions that the plan was to get the safe and get off. Everything else they took was just a bonus.

Pete asks how many others are on board outside of him. He mentions that there are two others with him.

Satisfied with this information, Pete then shoots the thug and loots the bodies for bullets.

The group prepares to head into the last car. As they discuss plans, they hear an explosion which rocks the train. Theo busts the door down and looks in. He sees a hole has been blasted into the wall, and a somewhat large, but still small safe has been removed from the train. It appears to have been previously attached to the train.

Silas turns to the group and smiles, saying he'll let his allies handle this. He then jumps out of the train with the safe.

Una gets closer to the door and takes a shot against one of the thugs in the last car. Her shot hits and he immediately drops to the ground, dead. She then tells the remaining thug he's next. Though he's completely unphased.

Dirge then summons a thrall by the last thug, which makes an attack on the thug. It explodes and takes the thug with it. The remaining ectoplasm splashes around and also hits theo, healing him slightly.

The thug begins vomiting blood all over the train, and when he vomits out more blood than a body could handle, he continues to vomit. Eventually though, the body eventually collapses.

As combat concludes, Theo and Athtar head to the end of the train to see Silas riding out with the safe. Athtar comments that they're probably losing their job money.

Dirge examines the body that was puking blood. He learns that the person has somehow projectile vomited nearly all the blood that was in his body. He also knows that this is not normal. He takes a vial of the blood.

Athtar pulls out his bomb launcher and attempts to line up a shot, but sighs and gives up, noting that it's too far. He slings the launcher onto his back, and walks back into the train, stepping carefully around the pool of blood.

As the group moves out of the broken car, Dirge gives Una the vial of blood. They continue to the first car to talk to Lutran about the outcome.

Lutran thanks the group for helping to make sure nobody else got hurt. He also mentions that the bard had slipped away before getting to the car with him. Theo remarks that he was right. He says he will still pay the group for their work, but it will be done when they get into town.

Athtar asks if he knows where Silas might have gone off to. Lutran responds saying that he doesn't fully know, as if he did, the situation would be taken care of by now.

Theo asks the group what they intend to do in west haven. Dirge is looking for more things to reanimate Athtar is going to study medicine and combine it with bombs. Una offers to help teach Athtar medicine. Pete is planning to continue going after Silas

Theo offers the group a job with the Dustwatchers, which the group accepts.

Maela goes to collect the bodies, but informs the group that the last thug, the one who projectile vomited blood, is no longer on the train
